In Memory of George Bush...

Okay, everyone...

This is the last night on Earth with George Walker Bush as president of the United States of America. Let's drop all the negativity for a moment and try to remember anything beneficial or good that he did. Please feel free to add your memories here to help us all out at remembering the good that Bush brought us. The things he did right and/or well.

I'll start off with saying that it is thanks to George W. Bush that the role of Vice President is no longer seen as completely inconsequential as it has been for the forty-two previous presidents.

I can't think of anything else right now, so I'm relying on all of you for help.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Well, I tried to sit Rozz down, today, and explain to Rozz why today was different and special. He didn't really get it. We'll try again next year.

Thank you, Martin Luther King Junior for the extra day off with my family.

I actually tried to make today special, today, for the family. First, we needed to reward Raziel: he had managed to sleep in his pull-ups for an entire week without wetting them. For those of you who don't remember, peeing in your sleep is one of the last bastions of potty training. Rozz has been potty-trained for over a year now during the day, but we've had to put pull-ups on him at night. Last night, after a week of dry pull-ups, we let him sleep without pull-ups and told him he'd be rewarded if he didn't wet the bed. We got up and his bed was dry, so we went in to Santa Cruz and let him select a bunch of cookies from the Pacific Cookie Company. We then went to The Crepe Place for an enjoyable brunch and then drove into Saratoga to enjoy Hakone gardens. We walked around the bamboo and koi for a long while and planted a letterbox there. We then grabbed a drink and headed home. Nothing too eventful, but it was quite nice being together as a family. I love my family.

Cute Baby Thing...

Phoenix's first word seems to be "Uh-oh". She'll drop a toy (sometimes intentionally) and say "uh-oh". It's really cute. Sometimes she even says "uh-oh" before she drops her toy.
