More 2nd Amendment stuff..
I recently read that the NRA is pushing through a supreme court case that will force a decision on whether a state or municipality has the right to trump 2nd amendment rights.

Here are my rhetorical thoughts:
What would happen if a state or municipality were allowed to pass laws abridging any other rights granted by a constitutional amendment? What if Texas outlawed the discussion of abortions? What if cruel and unusual punishments were permissible in New York City? What if police offers didn't require a warrant to search your person or property in Washington?

This really isn't just a second amendment issue, case in point, california's 215 allows medical marijuana, federal police regularly stage raids on state legal clinics. It comes down to looking at the definitions of "Full faith and credit" between the states and deciding what applies and where. If these issues are not looked at sternly, I personally recommend dividing California into three states. Everything east of I5 will be Hillbilly broke-ass California. All guns will be legal, all drugs will be illegal, and the churches will make up all civil law. Bro-ass Nor-cal (north of king city) will be much the way it is today, but will legalize weed and put a 20% state sales tax on it's sale.
South of kings city to San Diego will be "Douchebagafornia" all drugs will be legal, all guns will be illegal, and there will be no local news, all news media of all kinds will only be available from out of state.

San Diego to the border will be an autonomous zone known as "North Mexico" and will eventually be annexed by Baja.

I find it interesting that the states and cities can ignore the 2nd Amendment. As anti-gun as I am, I am troubled by that.

The problem for me arises because the 2nd amendment is so ambiguous. It is clear that the founding fathers intended every citizen to own a gun and to come together to defend the country in time of need. But times have changed and all the meanings of the 2nd amendment have been stretched by both sides. In an ideal world, I would love to see a new Amendment clarifying gun rights (or lack thereof).
